BGC South East is now offering Lane and Family Swims in response to the request of users of the BGC West End Community Centre pool, who have been affected by the City’s cancellation of pool hours.

BGC South East will be providing Lane and Family swims at the following times, effective Monday, May 13th:

All Swims are ONE Hour in Length.

Spring Hours (from May 13th – June 28th 2024):

Mondays to Thursdays: 8:00 am – 9:00 am

Fridays: 6:00 am – 7:00 am, 7:00 am – 8:00 am, 8:00 am – 9:00 am, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Saturdays: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, & 2:00 pm – 3:00pm

Summer Hours (from July 2nd – August 23rd 2024)

Mondays to Fridays: 6:00 am – 9:00 am

Mondays: 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Wednesdays: 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm 

Fees:

$6.00 + HST for adults ages 13+

$3:00 for children ages 0-12

Please note: The fees for the above swims are paid through BGC South East’s registration system and users register online. These swim times are not considered City Swims so City of Kingston memberships are not valid.

Accessibility 

Indoor, 25-meter pool, with an accessible entrance and no deep end.

Lifejackets/PFD
  • PFDs can be borrowed however no other equipment will be available for use
  • Patrons are encouraged to bring their own goggles and flutter boards etc.
  • Snorkels are not permitted at this time.
  • All used life jackets/PFD’s are cleaned/sanitized after each swim
  • The use of swim diapers is required for bathers requiring diapers. Disposable diapers are not permitted in the water
Pool Admissions/Ratios
  • The ratio of children ages 9 and under to caregiver may be a maximum of three bathers to one caregiver (3:1)
  • Children 6 years and under must be accompanied in the water, within arm’s reach, by a caregiver 16 years of age or older
  • Children 7 – 9 years of age must be accompanied in the water, within arm’s reach by a caregiver 16 years of age or older OR if the child passes the facility swim test the caregiver must be in the pool enclosure
  • Children 10 years of age and older who are swimmers may be admitted to the pool unaccompanied based on the drop-in program description. Those who cannot demonstrate comfort in the water or pass the facility swim test must remain in the shallow end
  • Caregiver or group leaders are responsible for children in their care while in the facility and must directly supervise the children at all times
  • Caregiver or group leaders must be a minimum of 16 years of age
