The Reg Shadbolt May Campaign
The Reg Shadbolt May Campaign is an annual community fundraiser led by BGC South East, dedicated to supporting children and youth through accessible, life-changing programs. First established more than two decades ago, the campaign has raised over $1 million to help ensure local families can access essential supports.
In 2026, the campaign was renamed in honour of Reg Shadbolt, a founding member and lifelong advocate for young people. His legacy continues to shape the mission of the Club, centered on creating opportunities for every child to succeed.
Funds raised through the campaign directly support programs that provide safe spaces, nutritious meals, educational opportunities, and inclusive experiences for thousands of children and youth each year. This includes access to summer camp, where children can build confidence, develop friendships, and experience a sense of belonging without financial barriers.
As community needs continue to grow, the campaign plays a critical role in ensuring that programs remain accessible to all. Donations help offset the cost of food programs, transportation, and specialized supports for children with diverse needs, allowing every participant to fully engage and thrive.
A unique aspect of the campaign is its local impact. Funds raised within each community are reinvested directly into programs serving children and youth in that same area, strengthening support systems close to home.
